The War of Resistance was a war of self-defense against enemies unprecedented in China's five thousand years of history. In studying the history of the Republican period, professor Te-Kong Tong stressed most on the period of the bloody history of the War in which he grew up and went through. Unfortunately, his cherished pursuit was cut short by sickness . This book contains 20 historical essays related to the War of Resistance against Japan and 5 other articles.

This book is the Chinese translation of an English manuscript written in the 1960's by Prof. Tong. It covers all significant historical events from the fall of the Qing dynasty to the co-operation and the struggle between the KMT and the CCP, and the Sino-Japanese war.

This is a revised edition of an out-of-print book, published in 1991, by Prof. Tong. It is a collection of Tong's essays that concern mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Included are essays that were not in the old edition. The contents cover a period from the Cultural Revolution all the way to the handover of Hong Kong.

This book was compiled and translated by the Society based on the manuscripts left behind by Professor Tong. The book is divided into three parts: China After Yuan Shikai, The Duan Qirui Regime and A Postscript to Warlordism. It is a succeeding treatment to Seventy Years of the Late Qing and Yuan Shikai. 26 October, 2010 was the first anniversary of the passing away of Professor Te-Kong Tong. The Society picked the date to compile a special anthology dedicated to his memory. The anthology contains memorial articles written by Professor Tong's numerous friends and acquaintances. In addition, it also collects the precious manuscript of an interview with Professor Tong by Prof. S.C. Koo, Recollection on the Peking Union Medical College, The Chinese Experience During the Period of the War of Resistance, The Taiwan Experience During the Cold War and several articles selected from the award-winning entries in our 2008 summer program.

This book is the result of the cooperation between the Society and Mr. He Tianyi, a social science researcher in China, since 2002. From 1943 to the end of the Sino-Japanese War, about 40,000 Chinese (war prisoners, anti-Japanese activists and civilians) were sent to Japan as forced laborers to work at various mines, piers, airports, and highways under inhuman and horrible working conditions. They often worked without sufficient food, clothes and medicine. The survivors of these forced laborers returned to China after the war. Those still living are now all in their 80's.

With the funding from the Society, Mr. He and his coworkers have conducted interviews to hundreds of these surviving forced laborers. This book of five volumes, totaling more than 3000 pages, is an organized version of the interviews. People interested in buying this book can contact the Society for further information.

A simplified version of the previous book. It contains 27 selected interviews to show how slave laborers were exploited and abused by Japanese companies.
